Is there a way to conditionally show the “datatype saved”
message that appears when you save a data type?
I have a custom data type which implements IDataType and I've
defined the Save() method, but the thing is there is some form validation logic
in this method so I don't always successfully save..
When I haven't actually saved anything it would be great
to prevent the “datatype saved” message from being shown.
@andrew: i've edited your post and you should be able to do the same. Although the post looks fine, you should use the 'html' button in the menu bar to remove all word stuff that shouldn't be in there. I just did and it seems to work flawlessly.

PS i can't seem to edit my post and remove that Office formatting junk. could a Mod pls do that? thanks
You can't change it for your instance without modifying the core of Umbraco or using some kind of a dodgy hack.
And there should be an edit button near the top of a post.
cool thanks for the info.
and yes, there is an edit button but it crashes when i try and save (an xslt error). :(
Must be something with the word stuff in the post, I was able to edit my post no problem.
