I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem after upgrading umbraco to version 4. I have searched google and the forum and found some information but none of them helped solving the issue.
Basically what's happened is I cannot login to Umbraco, tried all user credentials that are set up and none of them have worked after the upgrade.
When I was logged in to version 3 and done the upgrade then It kept me logged in, but as soon as I logged out I couldn't log in again..
Could anyone suggest what could have happened and point me in the right direction?
I don't know anything about v3, but the default password format in v4 is "hashed." You can change that to Clear, Encrypted, or Hashed in your web.config's membership section for UmbracoMembershipProvider.
Great stuff JC, I changed the settings to Clear and it's worked! I'll play around now to see if I can create a new user with hashed password and switch it back to the default settings.
@Daniel, during installation there wasn't any issues, all went smoothly without problems.

There is also a section for the umbraco users, UsersMembershipProvider.
How did you do the upgrade?
I upgraded from 4.0.0 to 4.0.3 using this upgrade guide -> http://umbraco.codeplex.com/releases/view/33743#DownloadId=95709
