2 pages, different header on each page

    Hey, Umbraco newbie here!

I have started off with a starter kit template and so far have got the pages header and footer to what I want and positioned how I want, but when I click on the other link I have (Home, About Us) I need it to show a different header image.

I have tried duplicating the CSS file, renaming it, changing the image and linking that CSS file in my aboutus.aspx page, but it just looks the same.

Files I have that I can see are Starterkit Master, Homepage, Textpage, Abous Us templates, the Starterkit, Design and About Us CSS files, and default.aspx and aboutus.aspx

Am very much confused with this, possibly as it is still new to me. But this header issue is causing me headaches, along with a link to the home page that wont go away near my header, even though all links are currently hidden

Hi Pat and welcome to the forum :)

Can you explain a bit more what you are trying to achieve. Do you want to be able to change the header-image on each page (maybe with some kind of fallback), or you just want to "hardcode" two different header images on some of the pages on your site?

Personally I'd add a 'header image' property to the document and then pull out this value within the template. Does this make sense?

    Hi Kim, thanks.

I am trying to hardcore 1 image into the header on the homepage, and 1 image into the header on the about us page, these being different. I have the homepage one on there, but it is on each page.

I've just deleted the new CSS I made so at the mo I just have 1 CSS file for the site.

Feels like a total amateur question, I am used to using Visual Studio to do programming/web development in, so still a bit confused about Umbraco and how it works with regards doc types, pages etc which doesn't help!

Just managed to do it I think, had a brainwave. Used the current Textpage template and linked it to an updated CSS file with a diff image in, and it has done it, god I feel like such an idiot.

I was creating a new template earlier and it wasn't working, but using the normal textpage one has.

    Thanks for the help.

Cool, great to hear Pat. It's just great when you figure something out yourself that was a problem earlier right :)
